Jesto Remote System Management Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
This policy explains what information Jesto Remote System Management collects from the devices an organisation manages with it, how that information is used, and the choices people have. Jesto Remote System Management helps IT teams enroll company devices, monitor their health, keep them patched, deploy applications, maintain an asset inventory, and provide remote support.
Jesto Remote System Management is part of the Jesto platform. This page covers the data specific to this product; our main Jesto Privacy Policy also applies. Where an employer or organisation deploys Jesto Remote System Management, that organisation decides how it is configured and used, and is responsible for informing the people who use its devices. We handle that information on the organisation's behalf.
1. Who this product is for
Jesto Remote System Management is administrative software for organisations. It is licensed to a business and deployed by that business's IT administrators to devices the business owns or otherwise manages. It is not consumer software, it is not sold to individuals for use on someone else's device, and it is not intended for monitoring a person without the knowledge of the organisation that employs them.
Organisations that deploy it are responsible for telling the people who use those devices that it is installed, and for using it in line with the employment and privacy laws that apply to them.
2. Information the agent collects
A small Jesto agent runs on each managed device and reports the following to the organisation's console.
Device and hardware information
- Device name, operating system and version, manufacturer and model.
- Hardware details such as processor, memory, storage and serial number.
- Network information such as IP address and the device's network location.
- Warranty and ownership details recorded by the organisation.
Health and performance information
- Processor, memory, disk and network utilisation.
- Status of operating-system services and scheduled tasks.
- System and application event log entries relevant to device health.
- Uptime, connectivity status and alerts raised against the device.
Software and patch information
- Applications installed on the device, with their versions.
- Available and installed operating-system and application updates.
- Results of deployment, update and removal jobs run on the device.
- Licence information the organisation records against installed software.
Remote support session records
- Who started a session, which device it connected to, and when it started and ended.
- Whether the person using the device approved the session, where approval applied.
- Actions taken during the session, such as files transferred, commands run or the device being restarted.
Administrator account information
Name, email address, role and sign-in details for the administrators and technicians who use the console, or the basic profile shared by an identity provider when signing in with SSO.
Technical information about the console
IP address, browser and device type, and log data collected automatically when the console is used.
3. What Jesto Remote System Management does not do
- It does not record the screen of a managed device outside a remote support session.
- It does not log keystrokes.
- It does not read the content of personal email, personal messages or personal files on a managed device.
- It does not track a device's physical location.
- It does not turn on a device's camera or microphone.
- It does not hide its presence from the person using the device.
4. How we use this information
- Show the organisation the devices it manages and their current state.
- Raise alerts when a device needs attention, and run the remediation the organisation has configured.
- Identify missing updates and install the ones the organisation approves.
- Deploy, update and remove applications as the organisation directs.
- Maintain the organisation's asset and software inventory.
- Establish remote support sessions and keep an audit record of them.
- Authenticate administrators, keep accounts secure and prevent misuse.
- Respond to support requests and improve the service.
- Meet our legal obligations.
5. Remote sessions and consent
Remote support sessions are started by an administrator or technician the organisation has authorised. Where a person is signed in to the device, the session begins only once they approve it. Servers, kiosks and other shared devices with nobody signed in can be reached without that step, which is how after-hours maintenance is carried out.
Every session is encrypted in transit and written to an audit log that the organisation can review. Access can be restricted by device group, time window and technician role.
6. Data storage and security
Jesto Remote System Management data is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services). We protect it with encryption in transit, access controls that limit who can view data, activity logging, and regular security reviews. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work continuously to protect this information.
7. Data sharing and service providers
We do not sell this information. We share it only in these situations:
- With service providers who help us run the product (such as cloud hosting and email delivery) under written contracts.
- With an identity provider when an administrator chooses to sign in using SSO.
- With the administrators in the organisation, according to the access the organisation configures.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Jesto, our customers, or others.
- As part of a merger, acquisition or similar transaction, with appropriate safeguards.
| Provider | Purpose | Region |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure / Entra ID | Hosting and authentication (SSO) | Global |
| Amazon Web Services (SES) | Transactional email delivery | Asia Pacific |
| SendGrid | Transactional email delivery | Global |
8. Cookies and tracking
The Jesto console uses essential cookies to keep administrators signed in and remember preferences. Our marketing website uses analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand how the site is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect functionality.
9. Data retention
We keep device, inventory and session information for as long as the organisation's workspace is active, and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. An organisation can export its data or ask us to delete it. When a device is removed from management, its records are retained under the organisation's own settings until deleted. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact support@jesto.ai. Because these records belong to the organisation that manages the device, requests are usually directed to that organisation, and we will help them respond.
11. Organisation and administrator responsibilities
- Deploy the agent only to devices your organisation owns or is authorised to manage.
- Tell the people who use those devices that Jesto Remote System Management is installed and what it does.
- Give console access only to administrators and technicians who need it, and keep sign-in details secure.
- Use remote sessions and device controls only for legitimate IT administration.
- Follow the employment, privacy and data-protection laws that apply to you.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or within the console. Continued use of Jesto Remote System Management after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
